Tastic's Soft and Absorbing Long Grain White Rice reveals a classic white rice that cooks perfectly every time. When cooked, each grain remains separate, producing rice that is light and fluffy, perfect for absorbing the delicious flavours of each meal. Its versatility makes it the perfect partner for any casserole or stew recipe.
4 - 6 Servings
- 250ml (1 cup) of Tastic Soft and Absorbing Long Grain White Rice, uncooked
- 1 ½ litres (6 cups) water
- 3 - 5ml (½ - 1 teaspoon) salt
Soak Tastic Soft and Absorbing Long Grain White Rice in cold water for 15 minutes.
Drain excess water and rinse lightly.
Bring water and salt to the boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes, uncovered.
Drain excess water and rinse under cold running water.
Return rice to pot and cover with tight fitting lid.
Steam on low heat for 5 - 10 minutes.
For softer rice, add more water and cook for a further 5 minutes.
