Tastic Rices of the World Jasmine Rice is a superior quality, long grain rice, grown in a rich combination of soils and water. These unique conditions give the grains a delicious fragrant, milky aroma, which is released during the cooking process. Jasmine Rice also develops a soft, slightly sticky texture. Perfectly suited to exotic Thai and other Oriental dishes.
JASMINE RICE 4 - 6 Servings
- 250 ml (1 cup) Tastic Rices of the World Jasmine Rice, uncooked
- 11⁄2 litres (6 cups) Water
- 3-5 ml (1⁄2-1 tsp) Salt
Stove: Soak Tastic Rices of the World Jasmine rice in cold water for 15 minutes. Drain excess water and rinse lightly. Bring water and salt to the boil. Add rice. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 - 14 minutes, uncovered. Drain excess water and rinse under cold running water.
Return rice to pot and cover with a tight fitting lid. Steam on low heat for 5 - 10 minutes. For softer rice, add more water and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Microwave: Place Tastic Rices of the World Jasmine rice, boiling water and salt in a microwavable dish. Cook on high for 20 minutes. Transfer cooked rice to a sieve or colander and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
